Choosing a Session

I currently offer two sessions options for 2022:

1 - 75 minute session

Choose your favorite 1-2 locations

2-3 outfits

40+ professionally edited images in a downloadable online gallery

Print release

2 - 45 minute sessions

Choose your favorite 1-2 locations per session

1-2 outfits per session

2 sessions can be spaced between different seasons.

Second session must be held within 6 months from first session. Full amount must be paid by the day of first session.

60+ professionally edited images in a downloadable online gallery (total from both sessions)

Location

Some of my favorite locations to get a lot of great photo options are the Dubuque Millwork District, the Arboretum, Swiss Valley, or the Mines of Spain, but I am open to any thoughts you might have! There may be additional travel fees for any place outside of Dubuque County limits.

What to Wear

Above all else, wear what makes you feel comfortable. These images are meant to capture the best of you and your personality. Here are some additional helpful tips you need some guidance in what to wear:

Colors

Solid colors, especially neutrals or muted colors tend to work best. Florals or prints are okay but consider the location we will be shooting in. Patterns work best in areas like the Millwork District where they can stand apart from the background better.

Location and Weather

Keep location and weather in mind. Bring sweaters or jackets to layer in case it gets chilly. These are easy to throw on and can add depth/texture whether worn or even thrown over your shoulder.

Movement

Make sure to bring options (or the appropriate undergarments) that allow for sitting, standing, and kneeling. Anything too short or tight will limit our posing options.

Mix it up

Consider bringing both casual and dressy options. Jeans and a nice top, shorts or a jumpsuit are great casual options and button-down shirts or dresses are excellent for dressing things up.

Hair and Make-up

Wear whatever you feel confident in and feels most like you. The Midwest humidity comes and goes so making sure you hair is really dry before styling will help prevent frizz and hold your style. Feel free to switch up your hair/make-up between outfits if there is time in our scheduled shoot time.

Extras

Do you have any favorite accessories or passions you want to bring into your photos. From hats to ballet shoes, let me know and we can figure out how to work them in!

Prep

Check out my current senior galleries to get a feel for locations and outfits ideas. I can also send you Pinterest boards with additional outfit examples to help your decision! I will pose you during the session but those examples will also give you a head start on what types of shots you might want.

We will watch the weather and determine if we need to reschedule the day before or morning of our scheduled session.
